When you play a slot, a random number generator will generate a sequence of numbers every millisecond. This sequence corresponds to a symbol and if you land three of these symbols on a payline, you win the amount indicated in the slot’s payout table. You can find this table on the machine, either in a paper format or on a touchscreen display. The pay table will list all of the possible symbols and their corresponding values, along with the number of credits you can win for landing (typically) 3, 4 or 5 matching symbols on a payline. Some slots may also have special symbols that can add extra value to your winnings.
In general, slots have a lot of different symbols that vary depending on the game’s theme and are aligned to that theme in terms of color and design. Some of the more common symbols include fruit, bells and stylized lucky sevens. Some machines will have stacked symbols which can increase your chances of landing on them by allowing normal symbols to appear more than once.
In RiverWare, there are several different types of slot: a specialized table slot (Periodic Slot), an integer indexed slot and a standard time series slot. Each of these slots can be opened in a Slot Dialog and can have different column configurations. However, only one of these slot types can be open at a time in the Slot Viewer. Highlighting a slot will show different menu options depending on its type and you can drag the slot off of the viewer to see the individual Slot Dialog.
